Two or more usually means it is time to rethink how this works.

  1. Strategy
  2. Goals
  3. Indicators
  4. Action
  5. Tracking
  6. Improvement

Once a company enters a phase of growth, transformation or organizational expansion, the real management challenge is rarely whether a strategy exists. It is whether the strategy can be turned into execution, whether departments are moving toward the same goal, and whether management can make decisions from consistent data and mechanisms.

Stalling revenue growth, misaligned departmental goals, management meetings that produce no decisions, KPIs disconnected from actual strategy, or heavy reliance on a few managers' experience usually mean the company needs to rebuild its operating management structure.

MetricDomain starts from how the business actually runs and helps the management team build a complete management loop of strategy, goals, indicators, action, tracking and improvement, so the management system lives in daily operations rather than in reports and meetings.

How we engage

  1. 01

    Operating Diagnostic

Interview the leadership and management teams; review the operating model, organizational roles, current KPIs, management reports and decision flow; identify the critical management breakpoints.

  2. 02

    Strategy & Goal Alignment

Clarify short- and mid-term business goals and strategic priorities, and build a shared understanding across departments.

  3. 03

    Management System Design

Break strategy down into departmental goals, KPIs, accountability and tracking mechanisms, introducing BSC, PDCA or a management dashboard where needed.

  4. 04

    Management Cadence

Design monthly and quarterly operating reviews, the management meeting structure and how decisions are tracked.

  5. 05

    Continuous Improvement & Internalization

Through regular reviews and coaching of the management team, gradually enable the company to run the management system on its own.

Client stories

Management by individualsManagement by system

Mid-sized biotech company, about 120 employees

From "everyone doing their best" to shared business goals

Result

The company gradually built a consistent goal-management language and operating review cadence. The management team could spot exceptions faster, confirm ownership and drive cross-functional improvement, while reducing repeated communication and management gaps, moving step by step from management by individuals to management by system.

The situation

After a period of rapid growth, the company began to face slowing growth and rising management complexity. Company strategy and departmental annual goals were not clearly linked, KPI definitions and management logic differed across departments, management meetings were mostly progress reports with few real decisions, and a busy management team struggled to see which factors actually drove operating results.

What we did

Re-examined the company's annual business goals and strategic priorities, introduced a BSC / PDCA management structure, built company-level and cross-functional KPI management, designed monthly and quarterly operating reviews, set up an operating dashboard with exception tracking, and strengthened the management team's ability to decide and improve based on data.

FAQ

How long does a consulting engagement usually take?

It depends on company size, management maturity and the scope of improvement. Some companies start with an operating diagnostic or a single management issue, then move into system design and implementation as needs become clear.

We already have KPIs. Do we need to redesign them?

Not necessarily. We first review whether your existing KPIs actually map to company strategy, departmental accountability and management decisions. The goal is not more indicators, but keeping the ones that genuinely drive business results.

Will a new management system add to employees' workload?

An effective management system should reduce duplicate reports, unproductive meetings and information gaps, not add administrative burden. The project reviews existing processes in parallel and simplifies management activities that add no value.

Which companies is this service best suited for?

An operating management diagnostic is a good fit when a company is growing fast, expanding its organization, struggling with cross-functional collaboration, finding that management systems have not kept pace with operational complexity, or when the owner wants to move further toward institutionalized management.

How are consulting fees calculated?

The engagement is designed around company size, project scope, the level of consultant involvement and expected outcomes. We recommend an initial needs interview first, after which we propose a scope and quotation based on the actual management issues.
